The recent announcement in The Wall Street Journal, Alibaba Takes Control of Logistics Business Cainiao as It Seeks Global Expansion, regarding Alibaba’s close to $15 billion investment in Cainciao Smart Logistics Ltd., its fulfillment partner in China, is highly significant.
Alibaba obviously understands the importance of logistics and customer data. As it expands in China and the rest of the world, management realizes that the “post-click” operations are critical success factors.
As Jim Tompkins, Chairman and CEO of MonarchFx states, “this significant decision by Alibaba serves as a model for what we are doing in the U.S. through MonarchFx. By expanding its delivery capabilities and automating its fulfillment operations, Alibaba is continuing to be a leader for eCommerce.”
MonarchFx is the equivalent alliance in the U.S. for eFulfillment. It provides an unequalled alternative to Amazon, by leveraging robotics, world-class logistics, and technology service providers as partners to deliver in the Brick and Click economy. MonarchFx services are new, smart, and innovative; yet, its single focus is on efficient, value-added, and reliable customer service, from order to delivery.
Be sure to stay tuned next month, we will be sharing lots of exciting news as The MonarchFx Alliance to continues to evolve.
All of my best,
EVP and President, MonarchFx Alliance
